Materials required for making prototype models

A prototype is a sample made during the development of a new product to verify its size, structure, appearance, etc., which can reduce the risk of mold opening.

Because opening a set of molds is not cheap, the losses caused by problems can be very significant! What information do we need to provide to the manufacturer to make a prototype?

1. Provide 3D image files: When making a prototype, we need to process it based on 3D images, preferably in formats such as STP, IGS, PRT, x_t, etc. Some customers may not be able to process it simply by providing one image.

2. Provide a production list: The list should include product name, processing method, quantity, material, surface treatment requirements, etc; The processing methods generally include CNC machining, 3D printing, SLA, SLS, vacuum copying, etc.
